New production facility in Grecia will strengthen Costa Rica’s position as a key hub for the life sciences industry in Latin America.
Nelipak® Healthcare Packaging, a global leader in healthcare packaging solutions for medical devices, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical delivery, has announced the construction of a new manufacturing site in Costa Rica, located in Costa Rica Green Valley, Grecia. This new facility is part of Nelipak’s strategy to increase capacity and better serve the growing life sciences market in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Operating in Costa Rica since 2012, Nelipak has been a key partner in the country’s medical manufacturing supply chain. With this expansion, scheduled for completion by mid-2026, the company reaffirms its commitment to regional customers and enhances its local production capabilities.

World-Class Facility Designed for Growth and Compliance
The new site will feature over 60,000 square feet of Class-A industrial space, including ISO 13485-certified facilities and ISO-7 cleanroom manufacturing environments, meeting the highest quality standards for the healthcare sector.
The facility is being developed in partnership with Portafolio Inmobiliario, a leader in sustainable industrial park development in Costa Rica.

Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities for the Healthcare Industry
Once operational, the plant will offer a broad range of production capabilities, including:
- Thin-gauge thermoforming for medical trays and blisters.
- Heavy-gauge thermoforming for deep-draw containers and trays.
- Die-cut pouch cards and inserts for sterile packaging.
- Expanded warehousing for improved local distribution and logistics.
Additionally, the site is designed with future expansion in mind, allowing for scalability as demand increases.
